After a long hiatus between childhood and adult riding, Kathy got reacquainted with horses during a trip to Iceland, where she was introduced to the hardy, smooth-gaited, and personable Icelandic breed. A few years later, her mare Blida came from Iceland to her new home in Canada. Saddle-fitting challenges and a diagnosis of PSSM (Polysaccharide Storage Myopathy - an equine muscle disorder) led Kathy to investigate various kinds of bodywork to help improve Blida's chances of a longer riding life. Now Kathy works with many breeds and riding disciplines to enhance the horse’s well-being.
In addition to being a 1 Hoof SURE FOOT Practitioner, Kathy holds certifications in the Masterson Method® and Equi-Bow. Ongoing study of TTouch/TTEAM and a Certificate in Equine Science from the University of Guelph combine to give her a wide base of options to draw from when working with you and your horse.

“Nothing else in the horse world helps a horse reprogram his movement so quickly. And, because SURE FOOT seems to work at a deep nervous system level, the horses maintain the progress.”

Dr. Joyce Harman, DVM

“Wendy Murdoch’s revolutionary SURE FOOT Program is a priceless gift to the horse world. I have seen remarkable results in mental, emotional, and physical balance of horses standing on these pads for only five minutes.”
